Gallery Café at the Art Gallery of NSW is a hub for the diverse community of AGNSW - a cafe for its visitors, members and the staff of the art gallery. It is a place to meet, eat, talk, plan, rest, and recharge. We are now recruiting for Cafe Chef to join the team. Our cafe is open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm and Wednesday from 10am to 9pm. About the role Based at the Art Gallery NSW near train and busses Work closely with the Sous and Head Chefs to ensure efficient food production and quality control Run your own section in a high quality cafe environment Innovative cafe style menu, changing to meet AGNSW exhibitions Ensure the highest standards of presentation and quality Train and supervisor junior kitchen staff Changing menu to match Museum exhibitions Work 5 out of 7 days on a rotating roster – weekend work is essential Annual salary at $70,000 plus super About you Qualifications in Cert III Commercial Cookery Experience in fast-paced cafe or events environment Excellent communication skills A passion for cooking, and be open to learning new skills in the kitchen Valid working rights in Australia, with the ability to work full-time hours About The Fresh Collective Sydney based hospitality group, The Fresh Collective, operates a portfolio of cafes, restaurants and stores and provides catering and event services in a number of iconic venues across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane including: The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Queensland Museum and UNSW.
