By supporting the academic endeavour across teaching, research, and the student life, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to activities that have a lasting impact on our community.Join a community where excellence is at the core of our culture, contributions are valued and a range of benefits and rewards are available, such as:26 weeks paid parental leave or 14 weeks paid primary caregiver leave.17% superannuation contributions17.5% annual leave loadingAccess to flexible working arrangements including hybrid working options, flexible start/finish times, purchased leave.Health and wellness discounts - fitness passport access, free yearly flu vaccinations, discounted health insurance, and access to our Employee Assistance Program for staff and their immediate familySalary packaging optionsAbout This Opportunity The primary purpose of this position is to operationalise the Faculty of Medicine student administration function, with a particular focus on Admissions, to ensure the delivery of high-quality client-focused administrative and professional services under the direction of the Coordinator, Admissions.Key responsibilities will include:Resource Management: Provide day to day supervision of professional staff, including management of workflow, workloads, proactive leave management, general supervision, performance appraisals and associated training and development activities.Monitor the quality of work undertaken in support of student administration processes.Student Administration: Provide detailed, timely and accurate advice and support to students, prospective students and staff on the academic programs offered through the Faculty of Medicine and on matters of policy and procedure.Provide advice and support to the Associate Dean (Academic) on student matters and related student appeals and grievances by preparing documentation and written correspondence and providing relevant information and recommendations within the framework of University rules, policies and procedures.Liaison and Advisory: Provide high-level advice on School, Faculty and University rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.Contribute, and provide advice on, the development of School and Faculty guidelines in consultation with senior management.Committee Support: Act as secretary to committees and working groups, including the preparation of agendas and minutes, and undertaking research into matters considered by the committees and working groups.Location and TravelThe Faculty of Medicine is based at the Heston campus, some travel between campuses and other locations may be required.This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to 26th February 2025.At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $86,371 - 92,658, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $101,055 - $108,410 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases - at least once a year.About YouCompletion of an undergraduate degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Flexibility, reliability, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to positively influence others.Integrity, diplomacy, and sensitivity in communicating with a wide range of client groups.Demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for the provision of excellent client service.Demonstrated knowledge of the student lifecycle from admission to graduation for both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.Detailed knowledge of the University's policies in procedures as they relate to student and academic administration.Experience in the supervision and line management of others coupled with the ability to self- manage priorities, exercise sound judgement, and support organisational change and decision- making processes.High level interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills, including the ability to effectively establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships.Well-developed analytical skills and attention to detail to enable accurate interpretation and advice on a range of complex matters.Highly organised with an ability to manage competing deadlines.Proficiency at an advanced level using a range of computer software packages, including student administration databases.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
