Help us make energy better About the role: You will be responsible for supporting construction and procurement activities for Alinta Energy’s development projects, as well as supporting Alinta Energy’s operational assets. Your strong understanding of the construction industry will play a key role in the successful delivery of Alinta Energy’s development projects. In this role, you’ll b e : Drafting and negotiating development construction and operations contracts for development projects Providing day-to-day legal advice on the implementation of development construction and operations contracts during the construction phase Assisting in resolving contractual disputes and support claims management for construction projects Providing legal advice on operationalising development construction and operations contracts Engaging closely with the Senior Legal Manager - Development & Generation and Senior Legal Manager - Major Project Development, providing ongoing legal advice and risk management. Ideally, you’ll bring to the role: Law degree (8 years’ PQE), admitted to practice in an Australian jurisdiction, plus extensive legal experience (with a major law firm or in an in-house counsel role with a major company) Commerciality and a keen awareness of business strategy Ability to develop and maintain strong internal working relationships. Strong interpersonal skills are essential Able to transform legal issues into workable solutions within a business context Energy industry experience would be looked upon favourably This role is best suited to a highly skilled individual with a deep understanding of construction law and contracts who can champion legal function governance and systems & process initiatives.
