We seek a Lead Designer to be a vital pillar of the Editor design team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Design Manager across the Editor, Mobile, and Content Lifecycle and join an organization consisting of multiple teams across Australia and North America. As a federated platform product within Atlassian, the Editor powers the content creation and editing experiences across Atlassian's suite of products, including Confluence, Jira, and Trello. It provides a consistent, familiar, high-quality text editing experience across all these applications. Its features, such as basic text editing, rich formatting, multimedia insertion, and real-time collaboration, are designed to meet diverse content creation needs. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in supporting the integration of different Atlassian products and enhancing productivity within the Atlassian ecosystem. As a Lead Product Designer working on the Editor, you'll be shaping a tool that significantly impacts all of Atlassian's offerings. Lead design on Editor features from conceptual development to final delivery, ensuring an intuitive and efficient user experience with a focus on accessibility. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and create effective design solutions. Use your deep understanding of products and technologies across multiple workstreams to inform design decisions and ensure they fit into larger systems. Demonstrate expertise in Interaction Design, Visual Design, and Systems & Architecture to create seamless and consistent user experiences. Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points and use these insights to inform design decisions. Create innovative design solutions, constantly refining and improving existing systems and architectures based on user feedback and testing. Influence the product's technical direction using effective communication and analytical thinking. Mentor junior designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the design team. Contribute to improving the broader team's working methods, navigating through change, and driving improvements. 7 years of product design experience designing complex or enterprise-level software. Experience in end-to-end UX/product design to design impactful solutions to challenging problems. Passion for story-telling, the ability to bring design direction to life with compelling narrative. Experience balancing customer needs with business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility. Facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: You can demonstrate the ability to integrate the work of multiple teams, solicit and synthesize feedback, and facilitate design discussions that lead to company-wide outcomes. Experience in design systems and the ability to identify standard components required to support a wide array of customer use cases. Experience measuring success with qualitative and quantitative methods. Experience improving processes and methodology to increase product value and team velocity and accelerate the adoption of new capabilities.
