They are currently seeking for a Engineering Manager to join their Adelaide team. About the role Led a diverse team of engineering and design professionals, collaborating with clients for process facility solutions in Minerals, Cement, and Coal Industries. Oversaw real-time monitoring, sampling, and control of processes to enhance operational efficiency. Ensured targets for engineering requirements were met within agreed timeframes. Drove a safety, quality, and performance mindset within the team. Managed timely execution of new products, sustaining engineering, pre-sales, and project designs. Developed manufacturing drawings and specifications according to project schedules and customer requirements. Played a key role in PPI development and implementation of lean processes for both owned processes and the wider business Responsibilities Cultivate and champion a safety-centric culture with a focus on "Safety First" and "Right First Time, On Time." Instill a high level of safety awareness and implement 5S principles among associates. Foster a culture of customer awareness and satisfaction by improving on-time delivery in engineering. Provide engineering support to global minerals and PGNAA sales teams, ensuring timely delivery of product documentation and drawings to meet customer project documentation VDDR and MDR requirements. Develop and maintain Standard Work for all engineering work cells, incorporating Leader Standard Work (LSW) into daily management practices. Document, audit, and enforce engineering processes and procedures, demonstrating continuous improvement and corrective action processes to meet ISO 9001 certification requirements. Uphold core values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Ensure compliance with required or statutory certification and licensing for engineering work, aligning all designs with relevant safety, environmental, and design standards or regulations. Actively participate in the PPI-Lean Enterprise (PPI-LE) program, leveraging ISO 9001 certification to utilize practical process improvement (PPI) tools and the 8-step methodology as the process champion for the A-M value stream business. Utilize the Root-Cause Counter-Measure (RCCM) 5-whys tool to assess performance gaps and establish sustainable corrective and preventative actions, including those related to customer satisfaction scores. Contribute as a key member of the CARES/CAS program, collaborating with the engineering team to identify improvement programs enhancing customer satisfaction. Serve as a Role Model Leader (RML), emphasizing values, communication, customer and employee focus, aiming for growth, high customer satisfaction (CAS), and employee satisfaction (EOC score). Create a work environment that challenges staff to develop competence and provides opportunities for professional development. Empower staff to be innovative and involved, promoting waste elimination and efficient problem-solving to meet or exceed customer expectations. Achieve customer satisfaction goals for on-time delivery, quality, and reliability standards, collaborating closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, and Project Management functions. Develop a successful team by motivating, challenging, and coaching direct reports, fostering accountability and facilitating ongoing personal development for themselves and their teams. Provide support as the acting Site Leader when required at the manufacturing facility. Skills and Experience We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following: Possess a Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience or equivalent, along with professional membership in an engineering association, which would be advantageous. Thorough understanding of the mining industry and its specialized high-value capital equipment, coupled with knowledge of associated documentation requirements. Proficient knowledge of electromechanical assemblies, instruments, or devices. Demonstrated track record in leading diverse teams of engineers and drafters in the development of highly engineered capital equipment or industrial products. Substantial experience in industrial design engineering, including expertise in flow and sample handling systems. Ability to ensure adherence to engineering standards for design and safety. Familiarity with "New Product Introduction Staged Gate Process" practices. Proficient in PC skills and well-versed in the latest technology and software for design drafting. Experience with 3D CAD and SolidWorks drafting software. Knowledge and experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System principles as they apply to engineering design. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with adept problem-solving abilities. Advanced interpersonal skills.
