About the role In this role, you will lead the Infrastructure Drainage team responsible for developing and implementing innovative and effective policies, strategies, plans and practices for effective management of the City’s civil infrastructure Work type: Permanent full time Classification: Band 8 ($115,035-$127,911 pa plus super) Key responsibilities include: Undertake a mentoring/coaching role that shares technical knowledge and experience with respect to civil infrastructure, with other engineers and officers Adherence to and advancement of all Council’s policies and procedures as relevant to this position and teams. Actively contribute to the personal development of each member of the Infrastructure Unit to achieve optimum performance, operational and professional goals. Responsible for the development, prioritisation and handover of civil infrastructure work for translation into The City’s future works program and subsequent close out. Accountable for the financial monitoring and reporting of the units Capital Works program along with the preparation and development of any business cases and financial reports as needed. About you To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, enabling certification as a Registered Professional Engineer and extensive experience in Civil Engineering at a senior level, including several years in the field of road and drainage engineering. Essential Experience: Demonstrated experience working with professional/technical staff, consultants and contractors, managers, and stakeholders to resolve high priority, and often sensitive and complex matters. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and leadership in the civil construction industry. Excellent communication skills, including influencing and `negotiating, rapport building, and report writing. Demonstrated experience in investigation, analysis and selection of roads and drainage treatment options, assessment and analysis to ensure service delivery is optimised Ability to analyse complex and significant road and drainage issues and think laterally to come up with innovative and efficient solutions.
