Project Engineer 22 Dec 2023 Perth, WA, AU, 6005 About the role The role will be responsible to plan, co-ordinate and control the design, procurement and construction phases of various projects to ensure completion in accordance with governance requirements, within time and cost constraints to achieve delivery objectives. It will be providing support to the Manager (Projects), Principal Engineer Projects and Construction personnel. Key responsibilities of the role include: Provide leadership and direction to the application of resources to fulfil contractual commitments. Manage aspects of design, procurement and construction via regular reviews of progress and costs. Control and co-ordinate communications with clients and ensure that projects are completed within overall objectives. Propose alternative solutions where established systems are unable to overcome project problems. Indirectly control: project programming, cost control, time control, quality control; purchasing and contract administration; construction activities during the construction management phase. Monitor the interaction of various disciplines and call on specialist knowledge when required. Ensure that specific project environmental, Occupational Health and Safety obligations relating to project activities are fulfilled. Prepare management reports detailing project progress and commercial status. Assist in the preparation of capital cost estimates. Prepare and administer contract documents including cost; quality assurance; time related issues; project cost control procedures; communication with engineering personnel. Proactively communicate and contribute towards a team environment. Contribute towards enhancing the company's reputation with clients. Understand, and comply with the company's operating systems and procedures and contribute towards their continuous improvement. Comply with all Company policies and procedures, as amended from time to time, including the adoption of safe working practices at all times in accordance with Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements. Partake in Safety in Design reviews; HAZOP and HAZID workshops; and other health and safety focussed activities as part of delivering projects. Supervise the transient workforce as part of various Rail projects and initiatives. To be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline. Master of Engineering and Chartered professional engineering status will be highly desirable. Minimum 8-10 years' experience in Project Engineering. Experience working within Greenfield and Brownfield Environments. Previous experience in Iron Ore Operations and Rail projects will be advantageous. Previous working experience in Project Execution, including Engineering, Construction and Contractor Management. Knowledge of statutory requirements relating to the industry. Excellent people skills and ability to influence and communicate. Dedicated to achieving the required level of attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, schedule, organise and establish own work. Able to work independently as well as part of a team to assist with supporting the broad objectives.
