Senior Software Engineer - Data Visualisation - Mining Tech — Sydney CBD, Sydney
Expired

Software development & design for 3D visualisation and tracking systems integrated with mine sites Brisbane or Sydney based role (hybrid arrangement) Modern web application architectures and opportunity to learn Golang Build and design advanced data visualisation software and a digital ecosystem to be integrated with modern mine sites. If you’re looking for data-heavy work, then you’ll want to put your name against this tech company’s door. You’ll design and build a flagship digital platform that provides a total overview of operations across remote mine sites that communicates with assets, machinery and humans in real-time. You’ll wrangle with a data heavy SaaS platform brimming with data coming out of 3D maps, Geospatial sources and data visualisation tools. Sound good? You don't need to have experience with Golang, all of that can be taught. You're an experienced Software Engineer that’s worked directly on digital SaaS projects deployed in in the mining sector or other “heavy industries” (e.g. oil and gas, industrial process control, agriculture etc). Substantial experience with past IoT projects with an industrial focus may also be considered. You know how to build and architect modern SaaS based web applications manipulate, manage, analyse and present data using an OO language (e.g. Java, C++, C#, .NET or Golang). You’ll be a big picture thinker and have experience in analysing various software architecture options, selecting and de-selecting tools and technologies as you’ll have a say on the architecture and roadmap. For your next role you want to expand your skillset, technically and professionally. Here you'll be given the space to work and room to grow this mining digital ecosystem product roadmap. You’ll join as a Senior Software Engineer and develop your skills in technical leadership and software architecture as you focus on the bigger picture architecture and design problems. There's an active role open right now, and they plans to expand again next year. If you're good, your first promotion will be inside the first 18 months and you'll have opportunity to build and grow your own team. One of your first goals is to develop improved features that allow the digital platform to observe the whereabouts of staff, mining equipment and technology devices in remote mine sites. You’ll also develop versatile tracking display options that can be adjusted to provide more detailed or wider coverage and enable direct communication with personnel through messaging functionalities in harsh and remote environments. In the longer term, you’ll be working on more advanced IoT and monitoring features that are triggered based on a sequence of actions (e.g. adjusting ventilation based on personnel and vehicle movements, regulating water pump operations). Sounds great right? Part of an Agile team, you’ll benefit from modern development processes that includes good CI/CD practices, microservices architecture (they’re possibly exploring a event driven one as well), containerisation, and up-to-date DevOps culture. With offices in both Brisbane and Sydney, we’ll consider candidates from either city. Applicants that mention "Three Rivers Hotel" in either their CV or covering letter will be given preference.
