The Systems Engineer (Cloud) leads the implementation of new and maintains existing IT systems in accordance with the business objectives of the organisation. The position is also expected to provide support to key stakeholders in the use and adoption of IT services within defined policy frameworks. Client Details My client is a market leader in the renewable energy space. Description Ensuring IT systems run within agreed service parameters Working with external IT service and support vendors to maintain these parameters Maintaining business continuity of systems and configuration backups including periodic testing Ensuring IT systems integrity through scheduled maintenance activities and updates managed through a formal change process Documenting IT services, their relationships (CMDB) including supporting process and procedures Secure and monitor systems using best security practice across all IT systems Automating repetitive and low value administrative tasks and functions License, auditing and compliance of infrastructure, server and desktops Periodic reporting of IT system health to the IT Manager Assists in identifying suitable technologies and process changes that would assist business as usual objectives Performs analysis of current systems and provides feedback With the IT Manager, reviews and trials technologies with an aim of understanding their workings and integration points into the existing environment Assist the IT Manager with third party service and support providers to ensure the smooth integration into the IT environment of a solution decided on by the business Updates or creates support documentation and maintenance processes Participates in training and knowledge transfer to IT staff members and or other stakeholders Providing an escalation point for first and second tier IT members of staff Coverage and assistance for the IT department in the event of overflow Liaison between external IT service providers and the resolution of IT service issues Mentoring first and second tier IT staff Profile Essential Tertiary qualification or above, with extensive experience in an equivalent role Design and administration skills of core Azure services with extensive experience Identity provider, Cloud-apps and federation design and administrative skills Strong and demonstratable experience in securing Cloud (Azure) and endpoint Strong and demonstratable networking skills covering Azure firewall, NSG/ASG, VPN and connectivity with on-premises Cisco devices Knowledge and use of Purview (Data Loss Prevention, Data classification, Information Protection, Information Barriers) Automation skills using Powershell, Python or any desirable scripting language Analytical, structured approach to problem solving and ability to work independently Willing to be available 24x7 in the event of an IT services outage.
