What's the role? NewsCorp is evolving as a publisher, adding video and audio content to our strong print and digital publishing channels. To support our rapid growth in video publishing, we are implementing a suite of video production platforms including Media Asset Management. Reporting to the Platform Manager - Digital Asset Management, the Platform Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Asset Management platforms, working as part of a team across several adjacent platforms. You will initially be working on a project involving: Deployment of the Mimir media asset management platform on Amazon Cloud; Creating video and audio workflows; Integrating Mimir with Amazon transcription and metadata generation services; Integration with Brightcove CMS for publishing; Developing operations procedures and related documentation. Longer term the role will evolve with the organisation's growing needs as they relate to digital asset production and management. As the Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for maintenance of existing code and the creation of new customer solutions from inception to delivery. You will initially be working in AWS, GCP, NodeJS, Javascript, HTML5, and React. Other technologies like machine learning may be added on a project by project basis. We will give you the resources and autonomy you need to get the job done. Who are you? To be successful, you must thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment, and be as comfortable talking to engineers and technical staff as you are with project managers and business SMEs. The right person for the role will engage collaboratively to build close working relationships and bring their experience to improve the delivery flow within and across teams. Experience implementing and operating asset management platforms (MAM/DAM/PAM) Experience with video and audio streaming - preferably with significant media company Practical experience with digital asset lifecycle management Experience with metadata management - entity extraction, sentiment analysis, classification Experience with Digital Rights Management and Copyright is advantageous. Experience delivering complex, high-performance and reliable customer solutions Creating and maintaining accessible technical documentation Excellent verbal communication, and documentation skills Amazon Cloud/ AWS framework A good working knowledge of Linux / Unix operating systems Experienced in writing and executing SQL queries Experience working with SaaS based platforms News Benefits News Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
