About the role We are delighted to announce that we are on the lookout for an ambitious Technical Services Engineer or Senior Technical Services Engineer to work in our tight-knit, friendly, and high performing Pilbara Metals Mining Services Technical team. Due to the geographical nature of our customer operations our preferred location for this role will be Perth. The primary purpose of this crucial role will be to provide blasting engineering, technical support, and blasting project management to our vast range of Open-Cut mining customers in the Pilbara region. Our Technical Service Engineers are the face of our company, and assist our customers and operations teams by providing technical expertise and input on blasting on a variety of client mine sites. They play a key role in optimising and revolutionising the way our customers mine, and play an important role in bringing our technology to life on our customer sites all over the world. The successful candidate will interface with a diverse group of customers and sites, providing technical solutions on the application of our products. Customers look to our Technical Services Engineers to solve practical blasting challenges, allowing our people to showcase their technical skills and create discreet solutions for clients. At Orica, we have the training infrastructure and expertise within the team to train a talented and ambitious engineer in Technical Blasting, therefore we are inviting applicants with all levels of Mine Engineering experience. What you will be doing Managing technical blasting projects to deliver value to our customers; Working with our customers to prioritize projects whilst utilizing our global network of experts to deliver these projects; Developing long-term partnerships with Orica's customers; Supporting our customer's technical blasting requirements; Managing our customer technical relationship and managing your time to engagement and interface with key sites; Taking accountability for delivering outstanding results; Continually improving your technical expertise in our products and services. What you will bring Degree qualification Mining Engineering or extensive experience in blast design; Knowledge in the mining drill & blast process is advantageous; Solid understanding of mining, including the cost & profit mechanisms of OC mining; An ability to work autonomously, and with limited direction as well as part of a tightly functioning team; Commitment to partnering with customers and your team, always accountable for your actions; A mindset to always looks for better ways to deliver value.
