Experienced Subsea Power and Controls Engineer for Perth Engineering Consultancy Senior Subsea Power & Controls Engineer Full time position Perth CBD Location About Client Client is an independent engineering and project management consultancy, specialising in offshore and subsea energy infrastructure. Their clients include multi-national to mid-size energy companies internationally and here in Australia, encompassing both traditional energy and renewable energy infrastructure. Their work covers a broad range of technical disciplines, including mechanical, process, electrical, geotechnical, hydrodynamic and reliability engineering. The Position: The successful candidate will be involved in a range of consulting activities focusing on offshore and subsea power system and controls engineering for energy projects, contributing to SEA's commitment to technical excellence and sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Design & Analysis: Engage in concept design, specification, installation, and testing of power transmission and distribution systems, renewable energy projects, energy storage projects, and related communications and control networks. Project Management: Plan and conduct professional engineering work, manage technical interfaces, and develop assembly and construction methodologies. Technical Leadership: Provide specialist leadership in power and control system operations, HVAC and HVDC power transmission and distribution, flexible AC transmission systems, and related fields. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution. Innovation & Compliance: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations and industry practice to apply innovative technologies in the development of high value solutions. Skills and Experience: Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems. Experience: Minimum 5 years in relevant fields such as renewable energy, power generation, transmission, and distribution. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with using software such as PSSĀ®E , PSCAD , DIgSILENT PowerFactory , CYMCAP, ETAP and CableHV . Ability to provide outline information and contribute to layout drawings assembled in drafting software such as MicroStation , AutoCAD . Communication & Leadership: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working autonomously and in multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Project Delivery: Proven experience in concept and feasibility design, FEED, detailed design, and delivering turnkey design solutions on large-scale projects.
