Location: Magdalene Catholic College, Narellan Magdalene Catholic College is a systemic co-educational high school in the Macarthur region within the Diocese Wollongong. Established to support the communities around Camden, Picton, Narellan and the Oaks, the College is now in its 24th year of operation. Currently, the College is in the process of moving to 7 streams and, at present, has 1125 students from Years 7-12. The College provides a learning environment which places students at the centre. The value the College places into the holistic growth of its students is fostered by high expectations, quality relationships and academic success for all. The College Motto: Quia Dominum Vidi (“Because I have seen the Lord”) is inspired by the College’s Patron Saint, Mary Magdalene, who, as the first witness to the resurrection, gave strength to the Disciples. A temporary part time position commencing 30 January 2024 until 20 December 2024. The successful applicant will be required to teach Visual Arts (Stages 4-6) with scope to possibly teach Photography, Video and Digital Imaging.  The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential. Importantly, the successful applicant will have a passion for Creative Arts and a desire to drive Visual Arts within the College. ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church. Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L. Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning. Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Creative Arts and possibly Religious Education. Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning. Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider College community. DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA Aptitude and willingness to contribute to the broader life of Magdalene Catholic College whilst supporting the Visual Arts faculty and celebrating student excellence online and in physical displays of student work within and beyond the College. The ability to teach Photography or Religious Education would be beneficial. GENERAL CAPABILITIES Well-developed interpersonal skills. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Strong organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. QUALIFICATIONS Appropriate qualifications for teaching in the Visual Arts faculty. Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment  with CEDoW. The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
