Melbourne Meat Vertically Integrated Business The Company Our client is an established, vertically integrated meat business who due to continued expansion across several areas within their business, are looking for an energetic and experienced meat sales trader to join their team. Working out of their head office, and working closely with the executive management team, you will be responsible for managing the export program, growing the division, ensuring market opportunities are maximised, whilst also ensuring existing accounts are well managed and supported. The Role You will be responsible for all sales processes, including developing mutually beneficial relationships with both domestic and export customers, whilst also having oversite of production and inventory levels. This role will require the successful applicant to have a strong understanding of the production supply chain and subsequent costs, including opportunities with logistics partners to maximise profit. Therefore, detailed market knowledge and an understanding of changing conditions with regard to livestock quality and supply is essential. The Person The ideal candidate requirements are: Minimum 5 years of experience in the meat industry. Exposure to procurement, production, and sales, preferably in the domestic sector. Intimate understanding of the meat industry. Export experience with ideally several developed markets. Developing and implementing business strategies. Exceptional communication skills are crucial, both for effective team management and external interactions within the industry. Strong time management skills are required to efficiently oversee various aspects of the meat business. The candidate should be a natural problem solver, capable of addressing challenges and making informed decisions in a dynamic industry.
