Your new role This role will provide commercial legal advice to business units within the Fund and assist the Legal Department in managing legal risk within the Fund. You will assist with reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts as required, including services agreements. You will also contribute to major commercial transactions (non-investment related) and assist with the resolution of contract-related disputes with suppliers and other third parties. Key duties include but are not limited to: Under appropriate supervision, review, negotiate, draft and settle contracts as required, including services agreements, consulting agreements and statements of work. Assist business units in managing their legal risks. Research legal questions including in relation to complex legal areas and matters and provide legal advice in an easily understood format. Provide legal support for strategic projects. Develop training materials and provide training on various legal matters. Research and interpret complex legislation, prudential standards and case law affecting AustralianSuper and ensure that relevant business units are informed of new or proposed regulatory requirements. Develop standard contracts and contribute to innovative process improvements to help streamline processes. Assist with the review and development of policies and procedures. Assist in the management of matters briefed to external lawyers and present external legal advice to the business with a commercial lens. What you'll need Bachelor of Laws or equivalent law degree. Current Victorian Legal Practicing Certificate or eligible to be admitted to practice law in Victoria. Minimum of 2 years' post qualification experience (PQE). Background in general corporate and commercial law. Superior organisational skills and ability to prioritise and concurrently manage a range of matters. Superior interpersonal skills. Superior drafting, negotiating and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work co-operatively in a dynamic team. Ability to work autonomously and proactively and to set own work plan in order to meet deadlines.
