Clinical Educator – Social Work Support and build the capacity of other SWs working in mental health Ongoing part time role (0.5 EFT) | Flexibility and work-life balance SW Grade 4 / Clinical Educator | Based in Parkville Your new team: Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a program of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 12 to 25 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness. Orygen Clinical Training (OCT) team is a sub-program of OSP, comprising an enthusiastic multidisciplinary group of clinicians dedicated to building the Youth Mental Health workforce across Victoria. Your new role: The recent Royal Commission findings are prompting change and innovation across the sector, and OCT provide training in best practice models of early intervention for severe mental health difficulties in youth. This role will have a key role in supporting and developing the Graduate Allied Health Program (formerly called the Entry Level Program, ELP) in OSP. The Clinical Educator – Social Work will work with the RMH Graduate Education program and Orygen Clinical Training to prepare and develop the OSP Graduate Education Program. This role will contribute through the following activities: Scope and identify the workforce learning and development needs of Social Work roles across OSP, including collecting data regarding the positions in various areas (clinical/management/education/operational) In collaboration with other SW Educators and Clinical Specialists, contribute to the development of education and training programs for Social Work in key areas such as supervision and transition programs for experienced SWs from other sectors. Work collaboratively with colleagues across all RMH and OSP teams, inclusive of all disciplines (Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Psychology and Medical) Develop links with Social Work academic programs to ensure a robust curriculum for Entry to Practice and transition SW educational needs. Provide supervision to the SW workforce as appropriate. Work in partnership with consumers, family, carers and supporters. About you: Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details) Comprehensive experience delivering mental health services to young people and their families/carers with a wide range of difficulties. Considerable experience as senior Social Worker, supervising mental health clinicians and managing a multidisciplinary team. Experience in developing and delivering teaching and professional development activities, and experience providing consultation to clinical teams.
