The Bank is looking for a Senior Network Engineer until 28 February 2025 with strong Cisco network and firewall experience who are keen to develop their cyber security, automation and cloud credentials. The Bank is currently on the journey towards Software Defined networking and your skills and experience will be used and uplifted to support these key next generation networks including ACI, Zero Trust Networking with Software Defined Access, SD-WAN & Azure Cloud. You will: Undertake the provisioning, maintenance, security hardening, capacity planning and performance testing of network (data, storage) systems infrastructure Participate in 2nd line IT incident and security response capability for network infrastructure Produce design, automation scripts, technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions Improve, harden, test, implement, monitor, and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues Manage the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance and security improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate Undertake acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment Occasional scheduled work at our Business Resumption Site at Bella Vista will be required Work with cyber security team to improve Bank’s protections and remediate vulnerabilities Your background Degree preferred in IT coupled with Industry accreditations in Cisco and ITIL Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure covering both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) Strong experience with Firewalls Cisco and/or Palo Alto and applicable management tools to manage such as Cisco Security Manager (CSM) Strong communications (data/voice/video) infrastructure experience Proficient in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation Strong experience or willingness to learn: Python and relevant scripting languages to automate activities. Good understanding of IT infrastructure and service management practices. Knowledge or willingness to learn: Network management tools such as Cisco DNA Centre, Statseeker and Infoblox Cisco SDDC and Cisco storage fabric management experience is desirable Your team You will report to the Network Services Project Team Lead, within the Network Services team. The Network Services team is part of the Infrastructure Services section of IT. As part of the team, you will provide expert services in relation to a business platform refresh project, while providing a service-oriented approach. Be More Why RBA?
