We're looking for a Mining Sales Consultant (Bowen Basin, QLD) based in Gladstone, Queensland. Purpose: Positions holders focus on SMEs and are responsible for sales activities directly to the customer. Activities include: Face-to-face and remote sales to new customers and cross/up/repeat sales to existing customers. Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services, and/or solutions Developing and delivering sales bids/proposals/presentations and conducting product demonstrations Developing medium to long-term sales plans and preparing strategies to protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers. Accountability Level: Manages an Operational Job Family for an entire region/country. Establishes operational/Job Family plans for job area over the short to mid-term (1-3 years) with a direct impact on results. Influences business decisions made by leadership on complex issues that are of strategic importance. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute sales and marketing plan for developing business, including product revenue targets. Identify and evaluate potential new opportunities and provide suitable recommendation to boost sales of products / increase market share. Implement/support the national accounts plan. Ensure the attainment of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets. Assist establishing a customer base in which to promote and solicit new, diverse, on-going business. Maintain market awareness; stay in touch with market trends including economic, environmental, and competitive forces influencing the market. Enforce standards, monitor pricing practices, execute objectives, and hold team accountable for performance. Ensure effective adherence to company policies, procedures, and sales process. Ensure optimal team performance and capability by providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, development, and corrective action. Create and maintain relationships at key levels with select customers and accounts; ensure timely and thorough follow-up. Ensure that assigned sector attracts, develops, and retains the highest quality sales talent available in the marketplace. Create a portfolio of new business customers. Implement a Territory Sales Plan, detailing strategy, objectives, and planned activity. Execute comprehensive customer account plans and sales opportunity plans. Build a robust sales pipeline and forecast that will yield future profitable revenue streams. Provide proactive information about relevant market activities within the assigned territory or market sector. Develop a detailed knowledge of competitive products and services in area of operation & submit accurate competitor information report monthly.
