Job Posting Date: 12 Dec 2023 Function: Maintenance and Engineeri Location: Hobart, AU About the role As an apprentice at Nyrstar you will be exposed to a wide range of maintenance tasks within an industrial processing plant. The 5 year program will give you the opportunity to acquire valuable skills and a formal qualification, all while being paid a generous salary and the opportunity to learn from skilled tradespeople. The role of an Electrical/Instrumentation maintainer is extremely diverse, with no two days the same. Working within one of our maintenance teams you will support our operational areas by being involved in: Preventative maintenance Commissioning of new equipment/plant Electrical installation Repairs and troubleshooting Exposure to PLCs, High Voltage, Instrumentation About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will need to have: Ideally undertaken a relevant pre-vocational course (i.e. Certificate II in Electrotechnology) A real interest in problem solving and an inquisitive mind A demonstrated ability to be reliable, trustworthy and punctual Keen, motivated and willing to learn Have a genuine desire to build a long-term career What we offer A career of challenge, reward and growth in a company that is focussed on being a leader in our field. Visit www.nyrstar.com Nyrstar Hobart is a large scale zinc smelter located on Hobart's River Derwent, only a few kilometres from the Tasmanian capital's charming and cosmopolitan city centre. The facility uses the RLE process for zinc production. Hobart's key products are SHG zinc, die cast alloys and continuous galvanising grad (CGG) alloys. In addition, the site produces by-products of cadmium, copper sulphate, paragoethite, lead sulphate, leach concentrate and sulphuric acid.
