Role Details: Gold Fields - St Ives is currently seeking an Engineer: Planning to join their Technical Services department. Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, you will be part of a team responsible for safe and efficient production from underground mining operations. You will be responsible for the short to medium-term planning functions of the underground operations to meet all safety, production, and cost targets while aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the business. This role is offered on a 8 days on 6 days off roster FIFO from Perth or residential for the local community (Kambalda/Kalgoorlie or surrounds). Benefits include: Gold Fields has a vast array of benefits including: Stability - strong 10-year life of mine. 6 % Site Allowance Quarterly Bonus Scheme & Private Health Insurance Allowance Salary continuance scheme and life insurance Continual training and ability to expand your career Salary Sacrifice options About the role: Prepare level extraction plans and reports to optimise the mining extraction processes and return on investment for the business, considering all strategic guidance along with Geological and Geotechnical considerations; Work collaboratively alongside the Production Team providing guidance for weekly scheduling priorities; Optimise, compile, and effectively communicate the rolling 3 monthly schedule; Design development mining instructions required to meet the operational mining schedule, ensuring plans are completed with adequate consideration to ventilation, infrastructure, paste fill, geological and geotechnical requirements; Develop strategic infrastructure plans and schedules with due consideration to mining interactions and budget requirements; Assist with project collaboration and coordination across multiple departments including alignment with site plan and schedule; Ensure business success by developing and implementing mine planning systems to ensure safe and economic target delivery; About you: Completed Tertiary Qualifications in a Mining Engineering or related discipline WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or ability to obtain one Demonstrate strong underground engineering experience, with exposure to all production phases, preferably in gold operations Proven short-term planning experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mining software such as Deswik and Ventsim Current Driver's Licence Applications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/Australia Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
