Our client is seeking a Legal Specialist to join them in a newly created role where you will be managing litigated workers compensation claims. This role supporting an insurer in NSW is a newly created role which will report to the Legal Manager and assist with managing litigated workers compensation claims. A unique chance to work outside the iCare scheme enabling you more opportunities in strategic decision-making. This is a full-time 12-month contract located in Sydney CBD. Key responsibilities: Strategically manage NSW workers compensation litigated matters driving resulting in claim closures, timely responses and cost reduction. Provide account management and monitor the performance of the national legal panel providers and escalate service issues to the Performance and Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with SLAs. Liaise with panel solicitors and external stakeholders to drive claims outcomes. Attend the Personal Injury Commission on behalf acting on behalf of the insurer. About you: Experience in WID, WPI, Technical Specialist or Legal Specialist role within NSW Workers Compensation claims setting. A confident and technical understanding of NSW Workers Compensation Legislation. Excellent level of written and verbal communication skills required both internally and externally. Tertiary education in Law is preferred although not essentials.
