As a key member of our Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) department in Melbourne, Australia, the Engineer III will play a crucial role in enhancing our drug substance manufacturing capabilities. This role involves supporting the technology transfer of Moderna's vaccine process, process validation, and life cycle CMC activities, establishing strong relationships across various departments. Here's What You'll Do: Within 3 Months, You Will… Begin involvement in the technology transfer activities of commercial products to the new Australia site. Start acting as a technical expert in cGMP manufacturing, including authoring technology transfer documents and supporting change controls. Initiate analysis of manufacturing performance and start authoring manufacturing summary reports. Within 6 Months, You Will… Lead cross-functional troubleshooting and operational improvements for manufacturing processes and equipment. Author and execute protocols supporting process characterization and equipment scale-up in cGMP Manufacturing. Ensure continuous alignment with other global manufacturing sites through shared knowledge and data. Within 12 Months, You Will… Establish and maintain effective data repositories and communication channels for manufacturing data and issues. Play a pivotal role in enhancing and optimizing the manufacturing process and equipment at the Australia site. Demonstrate significant contributions to Moderna's global manufacturing capabilities and strategies. Here's What You'll Bring to the Table: Biochemical engineer, Chemical engineer, or Biochemistry background. BS with more than 6 years of experience or MS with more than 3 years experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company Process development or operational experience in one or more of the following bioprocessing unit operations: Enzymatic reaction, chromatography, tangential flow filtration, buffer formulation, drug product formulation, and aseptic filling. Experience in providing technical support to cGMP manufacturing organization Experience in working with single use consumables, SS tanks and skids Experience in supporting tech transfer, change control, investigation, and data analysis. Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment. Ability to adapt to new and challenging technical opportunities.
