ABOUT THE ROLEThe OCMS Systems Engineering Team in Metro Trains' is responsible for transitioning to and supporting the breadth of operational technology comprising the new Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) systems as well as the supporting train control, SCADA and communications technology and platforms currently being introduced via the Metro Tunnel Project (MTP). The Senior OCMS Systems Engineer will be responsible for the successful “transition to operations” of the CBTC, Train Control, SCADA, Communications and other platforms being delivered by major infrastructure programs (E.g. Metro Tunnel Project) including technical design, integrate and document review, test & commissioning resourcing and other project requirements as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate closely with various technical / electrical maintenance and operations teams outside of OCMS to support new Operational Technology (Including CBTC, Train Control, SCADA, Network Communications and others depending on capabilities and project needs). Actively participate in workshops, planning, design and integration activities to ensure compliance with MTM standards and broader technology strategies Actively participate in workshops, planning, design and integration activities to ensure compliance with MTM standards and broader technology strategies Identify, minimise and manage exposure to any risk associated with new Operational Technology Systems, ensure effective controls are implemented Ensure all engineering documentation is maintained in a timely manner and to the required standard, and all maintenance and training documentation and material is current and relevant ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, Computer Systems,) or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia Experience in a few of these areas - CBTC, Wayside Signalling, Train Control/ ATS, Networks and Communications, SCADA, Radio Communications, Surveillance and CCTV, Protocol Translations (Software), Onboard Rollingstock Technologies, Systems Engineering and Software, Test and Release Management Experience and knowledge of working within a rail or transport infrastructure environment will be advantageous Demonstrated ability to implement appropriate and fit for purpose processes to ensure systems are monitored and maintained to agreed service levels and standards Metro's commitment to a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive cultureMetro acknowledges the Victorian Traditional Owners of the land on which our rail network operates, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation.
