The Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology is a multidisciplinary hub of cutting-edge teaching, learning and research. It develops future leaders in the areas of science, engineering and technology, and actively partners with innovative industries to solve problems of global significance. The Centre for STEM Education and Innovation (CSEI) brings together education- and STEM discipline-experts to lead the development and delivery of critical courses. Strategically placed within the University of Adelaide’s Faculty for Science, Engineering and Technology, CSEI’s role is to create exciting educational offerings for students by drawing from the wealth of expertise across the Faculty. Collaborations across SET aim to build new educational resources with an emphasis on transferable professional capabilities. Our Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses cover core engineering and technology subjects including Mechanics Technology, Systems and Complex Systems Engineering, Programming (Matlab, C and Excel), Business Management Systems, Research Methods, Communications and Critical Thinking. We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual staff to assist with the delivery of our Semester 1 undergraduate and postgraduate course offering, commencing Monday, 26 February 2024. Application process: Please view available courses through the application form, to determine what work offerings are being made available for individual courses (i.e. other academic activity, marking etc.) Ensure you meet the essential criteria: Conferral of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field Good technical knowledge of the key teaching components of the courses you are applying for Excellent communication skills including the ability to clearly explain technical information to students Available and flexible to meet the minimum hourly/sessional requirements for the course Able to work collegially to support excellent teaching in the School Demonstrated ability to educate and mentor students Are an Australian citizen or possess an eligible Australian work visa Please note: Prospective employees are required to provide evidence of their Australian citizenship or working rights.
