The Role: This opportunity is for a role with a host employer in the Engineering field. The host employer is working on a construction project for Transport NSW that is based in Little Hartley NSW, a short drive from Lithgow. This is an office-based position, although from time to time the candidate will be required to do outside site visits and assessments. Key Responsibilities: · Support the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System · Assist with maintaining site registers and safety records. · Assist with the induction process. · Review tickets, licences, insurances, and qualifications, ensuring all documentation is accurately recorded and maintained. · Assist with and encourage personnel to complete their task inspections and workplace inspections. · Assistance with completing the monthly report. · Scanning, filing and photo copying as required. · Maintenance of the site HSE Notice Board · Attendance at meetings as required. · Assisting with arranging training · Identify areas for improvement. Ideal Candidate Traits: · Willingness to learn new skills and start a career · Experience in excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook · Effective communication skills · Ability to work as part of a team. · Problem-solving orientation · Self-motivation · Ethical behavior · Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, standards, and best practices is advantageous · Working in the HSE department can be reactive so adaptive to change and changing priorities. · Punctual & reliable · Willingness to commit to a 12-month traineeship: As a trainee, the successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and support to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for the role of Safety Administration Officer. The candidate will receive a Cert III in Business, a white card and RISI card once accredited training has been completed) This is a targeted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander role.
