Senior Menswear Designer - Trenery Purpose This is such an exciting and pivotal time in the history of Trenery and in order to continue to progress our vision, we are looking for a Senior Menswear Designer to join the team. You will lead the Menswear category in research, design and development, ensuring alignment to the Brand strategy and financial metrics; working collaboratively with Design, Planning and Product Development & Sourcing (PD&S). Key Accountabilities • Leadership, management, coaching and inspiration of the design team • Design a product range aligned to the brand strategy set by the Head of Design, and aligned to the option plan, price points, margin targets and trade insights • Conceptualise and sketch the range. Develop and maintenance of all range documents • Complete thorough garment briefing specifications for PD&S team (including technical and construction specifications) • Provide comments on all raw materials to P&DS team (including lab dips, strike off and trims) • Contribute to fit sessions to ensure consistent fit and quality standards are achieved, partnering with PD&S team to achieve cost and margin targets • Communicate product design changes to relevant stakeholders to mitigate any design concerns, potential delays and/or price variations • Present collections to key stakeholders throughout the design and development process • Evaluate range performance by assessing weekly sales reports and attending trade meetings, taking learnings into future actions • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders/vendors to ensure design vision is achieved • Partner with PD&S team on potential new categories, providing advance notice to enable PD&S to source new vendors and optimise contract negotiations to meet Brand requirements • Undertake inspiration and vendor trips where necessary. Key Capabilities • 5 years relevant design experience in Menswear • Strong technical design, fit and sketching skills • Diploma or degree qualification in Fashion Design or related field • Intermediate/Advanced skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
