Based in our Perth branch, we are looking for a dedicated Field Engineer to join our expanding Technical Services Team. Swagelok deploys a team of engineers throughout the world as an extension of our headquarters in Solon, Ohio. Field Engineers work closely with Swagelok Corporate and the larger Engineering Services network. Their mission is to be the technical liaison and advocate between the customer, our SSC network, and the factory by providing an extension of Swagelok engineering resources. https://www.swagelok.com/en/engineering-services/field-engineering This is a critical area of the business and as such, we are looking for a high performer with a breadth of experience who can demonstrate the following: • Provide engineering services to customers for specific installation projects that are strategic and critical to Swagelok Australia. • Provide high quality and timely advice and reports to clients and Swagelok team members. • Provide application knowledge and technical support to customers and where applicable their installation contractors to encourage smallbore tubing systems are installed in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, Energy Institute guidelines and owner company/project specifications. • Work closely with our sales team to grow Application Solutions, Custom Solutions, Services and Product business within Target Markets • Establish, maintain, and develop strong relationships and collaboration with internal stakeholders, key customers, industry partners and Swagelok corporate. • Ability to safely work autonomously, performing on-site inspections and desktop evaluations of customer fluid systems to identify areas for improvement, to create a comprehensive evaluation report. • Continuously develop Field Engineering capabilities and resources for Swagelok Australia • Provide regional support to Swagelok Corporate in the development of FE services. • Preserve the Company’s position and Swagelok brand image with respect to clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. • Help accelerate recognition of Swagelok as a credible Engineering Partner Key Requirements & Selection Criteria: • Engineering degree/diploma preferred or minimum of a mechanical/instrumentation trade-based qualification. • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related technical role in the oil & gas, petrochemical industry, offshore or related industry. • Proven expertise in fluid system technology, small bore tubing systems, valves, instruments, and components • Skilled in interpreting and understanding customer applications, P&ID, and fluid schematics. • Experience with technical surveys on client sites • Ability to review, change and manage tasks effectively and efficiently. • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills • Knowledge of safety and quality systems, policies, and procedures Other Requirements: • Willingness to onboard with our Field Engineering training program • International travel for training and conferencing • This position is mainly based out of our offices in Canning Vale; however, the candidate must be willing and able to travel and work remotely as part of a team when required. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the field, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Field Engineer will work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met. Responsibilities: Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and provide technical support Develop project plans and schedules, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, including design, construction, and commissioning Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards Manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met Provide training and support to junior engineers and technicians Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role Strong technical skills and expertise in the relevant field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
