About The RoleThe Security Engineer is accountable for supporting the deployment of security solutions to support Endeavour Foundations organisational risk management and security strategies. This role is critical in supporting the organisation to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information assets. This will be achieved by implementing, maintaining, and applying a suite of architectural frameworks and security standards that aim to mitigate risk.This role will collaborate with and provide advice to internal stakeholders, external outsourced vendors and third-party stakeholders to establish, implement and maintain compliant security controls and solutions. Duties include: Perform security risk assessments, identify gaps in existing security architecture, and recommend changes or improvements. Implement security controls to mitigate threats. Implement solutions to align enterprise security architecture frameworks, standards, and strategies (e.g., ASD’s ISM, ISO 27001, Essential Eight) with overall business and security strategy. Document security requirements and controls for protecting information, systems, and technology assets. Define and document how the implementation of a new technology impacts the security posture of the current environment. Document and update as necessary all definition and Security Engineering activities. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external vendors and service providers in the assessment and implementation of security solutions. Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on information security matters. Ability to understand and apply information security sensitivity classifications. Thorough understanding of MITRE ATTCK framework. About You Minimum three years’ experience in a similar or relevant role within a diverse organisation. Demonstrated experience in identifying, implementing, and applying relevant information security controls and frameworks in an enterprise environment. Demonstrated experience in the solution design, review and supporting implementation of information security components. Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and managing information security risk within an organisational enterprise risk framework. Demonstrated experience working with security protection and vulnerability assessment tools (SIEM, NDR, EDR, XDR) and vendors. Experience interacting with external vendors and service providers. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining technical specifications. Demonstrated capability to maintain awareness of current and emerging security threats. Demonstrated experience in understanding, assessing, and applying information security controls based on industry standards (e.g., ISM, ISO27001, Essential Eight). Demonstrated experience in imparting security awareness trainings. Strong understanding and experience in network security. Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Information Security, or a similar discipline. Relevant industry certifications (preferrable): CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, ISSEP, CEH, Microsoft Security Suite. AWS, GCP, Azure background is preferable is a bonus. Australian Citizen / Permanent Residency.
