Requisition ID: 273099 Relocation Authorized: National - Camp Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project Work Location: Karratha WA Project Overview: Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to 225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. Role Responsibilities: The Painting Insulation Fireproofing (PIF) Field Engineer will report to the Area Field Engineer, and will be responsible for quality of painting, insulation, and fireproofing. This position will interface with other discipline field engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and planners to develop project schedules for painting, insulation, and fireproofing. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Establish insulation, paint, and fireproofing application philosophy. Track and report installed quantities. Ensure Coatings, Insulation and Fireproofing construction installation program is compliant with project specifications and applicable codes. Review and approve permanent plant materials bought for painting, fireproofing, and insulation. Coordinate paint, insulation, and fireproofing releases. Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans and verify the completeness of quality documentation on daily basis. Maintain all the calibration records for the instruments used for painting and coating. Create and issue work packages. Provide technical assistance to superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, leading hand, and craft professionals. Perform inspections and documentation of all insulation, painting, coating, and fireproofing work in progress on a continuing basis, and ensures documentation is complete prior to turnover. Assist supervision and project controls in preparation of 3-week lookahead schedules. Review quantity estimates from design drawings, and provide input to the quantity tracking applications and reports weekly verified installed quantities to Project Controls. Issue material withdrawal requests for permanent materials. Assist field procurement in inspection and receipt of received materials. Resolve design clashes and any other constructability or technical issues. Verify accuracy of data from subcontractors and suppliers. Basic Qualifications: Nace Level III University/B.S degree in a relevant engineering discipline is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated. Minimum 10 years, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role of related construction site experience is required in paintings, coatings, fireproofing, and insulation. A minimum 5 years of experience in LNG cryogenic insulation is required. Must demonstrate expert understanding of applicable industry codes and standards. Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment. Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures. Experience in the design and/or construction of LNG facilities is preferred Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Infoworks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects, is an asset. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving ability. Additional Information : This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.). The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
