Sydney inner west close to train Permanent fulltime on-site Growing global brand - high-end consumer goods manufacturer MCS Consulting is seeking an energetic and creative firmware/hardware design engineer who is interested in designing high-end premium products aimed at the culinary, wellness and health industries for an innovative appliance maker. The job mix is 70% electronics design and 30% embedded software development. The role will suit someone in earlier stage of their career (3-5 years of commercial experience) and has a career path to a senior role in the future. Position is permanent and they need someone who can happily commit to full-time on-site work (it’s not a hybrid role). What we are looking for We’re looking for a confident, hands-on, Embedded Software and Electronics Engineer capable of developing consumer product designs and robust engineered solutions to specification, with a high degree of quality. Personality fit is important and candidate experience in smaller creative product development companies or design houses is valued. The engineering team has the freedom to design creative and innovative ideas. They have a world class product development centre in Sydney with an artistic work environment located close to the train station. Your responsibilities would include Develop low level firmware and device drivers for sensors, motors and mechanisms. Detail design of electronics assembly, including the schematic capture and solid PCB design Fast turnaround electronics prototype construction, produced internally and with offshore OEM suppliers Collaboration with Mechanical Design team You possess the following skills Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering with electromechanical experience in both a product design and manufacturing environment. 3-5 years of Engineering experience - food or beverage industry knowledge is a plus Experience with STM32 microcontrollers End-to-end product development experience. Strong Electronics Design knowledge, both Analog and Digital Familiar with both regional and international electrical and safety compliance standards. High Proficiency in PCB design software - Altium Must possess ongoing and unrestricted rights to work in Australia to be considered for this role.
