Your new team Portfolio Strategy is a newly formed team within the CIO Office. The team is responsible for the design and management of the Balanced Option and the oversight of all the Investment Options. The team has three key areas: Portfolio Design, Portfolio Management, and the Oversight of the Fund's Investment options. To ensure they deliver their return objective within constraints. The flagship product is the Balanced option. Your new role Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Strategy, this senior role is responsible for leading the design of the Balanced Option. The core responsibility is to deliver a framework and model to design the Balanced option to deliver its objectives within constraints. This involves working directly with the CIO and Heads of Asset Classes to agree alpha objectives and cost, active risk and illiquidity/liquidity allocations across key strategies and aggregating the portfolio to form a "total portfolio view". The Senior Director, Portfolio Design's key responsibilities include: Lead the design and build the long-term portfolio strategy to deliver the Boards outperformance objectives best using constraints. Develop and recommend ways to build a better portfolio to achieve the Boards return objectives by: Developing a portfolio construction framework and supporting model that allocates alpha objectives and key restraints (active risk, cost, illiquidity / liquidity budgets) across all asset classes / strategies to deliver outperformance. Assess the suite of portfolio strategies to ensure there are sufficient differentiated return drivers based on our medium and long run outlook and make recommendations to improve strategy composition. Drive the development and total portfolio assessment of new strategies of new strategies for all portfolios, with particular focus on future strategy as the fund grows. Ensure that portfolio positioning is consistent with constraints, risk appetite and limits and make recommendations to the CIO and / or relevant investing teams on possible issues and actions across key limits. Provide advice and insights to the Board/ Investment Committee on how we build portfolios. What you'll need Superior tertiary and post tertiary qualifications in a relevant field. Minimum 15 years' experience in investment decision making and/or investment strategy/ multi asset portfolio construction. Excellent Quantitative and qualitative skills in portfolio construction and risk modelling and analysis. Self-starter who can lead research projects and synthesize complex information into concise conclusions. Strong presentation, communication and report writing skills. Experience managing people and ability to work in a team environment. Strong understanding of investment principles, investment strategies and instruments.
