Woodleigh is currently seeking applications for a Product Design Technician. The position is part time and fixed term for 12 months. This is a technician position supporting the Manual Arts Learning Area. The role primarily focuses on the needs of and provides support to Woodleigh School teachers and students in the Manual Arts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide classroom support for Manual Arts teaching staff as required (including set-up, during class, and pack-up). Maintain Manual Arts Department resources in an organised and easily accessible manner. Prepare materials for class groups and individual student projects. Assistance with the stocktake of materials and equipment. Prepare orders and quotes of materials and equipment, including delivery and/or collection. Document and report on the maintenance requirements of Manual Arts Department equipment, plant and facilities. Perform routine maintenance on tools, equipment and plant. Be aware of and comply with OHS regulations, standards and codes of practice relating to department resources and processes. Maintain Safety Data Sheets and chemical registers. Ensure safety signage is appropriately displayed. Undertake other duties as required and which are relevant to the position, as directed by Manual Arts staff and comply with Woodleigh policies and procedures, as amended from time to time. Selection Criteria: Essential: Relevant qualifications to machine operation Experience following OH&S procedures and protocols An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children Experience working with children Excellent communication skills Well organised with the ability to prioritise A positive attitude and willingness to learn Completion of VCE Conditions of Employment A Working with Children Check is required for this position.
