About the Role: As Senior Mechanical Designer, you will develop designs for engineering systems, structures, mechanical components and plant arrangements, planning and executing the presentation of these in graphic form, in both 3D and 2D. Your duties will include: works independently in the preparation of complex designs from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed. assists in constructing detailed scale models. generates 2D design and manufacture drawings, and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others. when working in a lead-role, assigns tasks accordingly to designers/drafters assigned. ensure compliance with approved design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design. review and check calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters. responsible for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline. works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements. develop work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor. other duties as required. What You Bring: sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. experience with multi discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight. expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities. specialist courses in drafting, design and engineering practices. extensive experience in design and drafting, including demonstrated expertise in a lead role or recognized courses in the directing of personnel.
