Due to expansion, we are looking to appoint a Junior Legal Counsel to work in our Brisbane office. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this position provides an excellent opportunity for a Junior Legal Counsel to join this high performing in-house legal team in an international company. This role would be perfect for someone with some property or hotel experience looking to make a career move to an in-house role with a large and rapidly growing hotel company. The current make up of the Legal Team includes 3 lawyers and 3 non-lawyers. We are looking for a candidate with a desire to grow their career as an in-house lawyer with a passion for growth and success. Key Responsibilities Include: Providing general legal advice, recommendations, and support to a number of key internal departments, including Owners department, Property (65 properties), Leadership Team, Executive Committee, General Counsel & Commercial Departments. Undertake legal work, including giving legal advice and preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documents. Keep the General Counsel informed at all times about any significant legal or compliance issues arising from legal work Review, negotiate and draft corporate, sponsorship or software related contracts as well as a large range of corporate and commercial and hotel agreements Draft, review and negotiate Hotel Management Agreements and property leases Assist in supporting the legal team in managing purchase or sale agreements (for new and existing hotels) Assist with preparing, renewing and assigning MLR Agreements, Leases, HMAs and Franchise agreements as required Provide advice and recommendations on the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and privacy legislation.
