Company Description This is an opportunity to join the Octopus Australia team in our Melbourne or Sydney office. The successful applicant will be able to join the Octopus Investments Australia team on their mission to accelerate Australia's transition to a future powered by renewable energy. We are looking for a 6 year PQE solicitor to support the business through a period of exciting growth. The role is part-time or full-time. Ideally the successful applicant will have energy projects and construction experience in the Australian market. Octopus Investments Australia Established in 2018, Octopus Australia is a team of over 45 plus people across Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland, and is growing rapidly. About the Role You will be responsible for providing legal advice to our energy development business. This will, in conjunction with support from external counsel, include providing advice across the full development life-cycle of renewable projects. This role will report into our Director & General Counsel. Qualifications Ideally you will have 5 - 10 years' PQE experience gained within a reputable law firm or in house working on grid-scale renewable energy projects. Strong candidates will have experience in EPC, O&M, connection agreements and related project documents. However, we recognise that not everyone fits this mould. Our business has many aspects, such as community licence, environmental and social governance, and indigenous investment.
