We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual academic staff to assist with the delivery of our program in Semester 1, 2024. Casual rates aligned with the University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement and an employer contribution of 11% superannuation will apply. A number of roles are available for expressions of interest, including: Professionalism & Leadership: this role involves delivery of professionalism, leadership and communication content to students in Years 1-3 of the program. Clinical Practice: this role involves demonstrating to, and giving feedback on, clinical and communication skills to students in Years 1 and 2 of the program. Availability is required on Tuesday (year 1) or Thursday (year 2) for either a half or full day. Scenario Based Learning: this involves small-group learning and is an important mode of learning during the early years of the medicine curriculum. The sessions provide an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and develop skills in clinical reasoning. Availability is required for a Wednesday AND Friday (half days) or Monday AND Thursday (half days). Teaching students in Adelaide Medical School, you will be responsible for upholding the academic quality and integrity of the program, in consultation with the Program Director, Course Coordinators and Domain Leads. Teaching is conducted at the Adelaide Health & Medical Sciences building on North Terrace or at the Helen Mayo Building on Frome Road. There is an expectation that our teachers will participate in the peer review process and on-going review of their teaching, as to reflect our commitment to high quality education. To be successful you will ideally possess: Demonstrated experience of undergraduate teaching in medical education Demonstrated experience of student support Experience in assessment of student performance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with learning management systems and information technologies to support student learning An MBBS (or equivalent) is essential for the Clinical Practice or Professionalism and Leadership roles Enjoy an outstanding career environment The University of Adelaide is a uniquely rewarding workplace.
