About the role We're currently looking for experienced Blasting Engineers, Technical Services Engineers, Blasting Technicians and Senior Blasting Technicians to join our Underground technical Services team, supporting customers in WA . These roles can be based in our Perth or Kalgoorlie offices. We usually work an 8-hour day, Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work from home on certain days. This role may entail occasional site visits, which could amount to a maximum of 20%, in order to assist with technical projects at customer mine locations. This role's main focus is to provide drill and blast design support, on-bench training of Orica products, deliver advanced technical projects, and ensure product stewardship for our mining and quarry customers. What you will be doing Blasting Projects: Assist team on execution of blasting-related projects on our customer sites by using Orica's full suite of advanced and cutting-edged blasting systems and technologies; Blasting Product Stewardship: Providing advanced-level blasting expertise and training on Orica's products to our customer teams; Working Together: Forming and nurturing sustainable relationships with our customers technical and operational teams; Blasting Solutions and Project Execution: Working alongside our customer blasting teams to understand blasting problems, and applying the correct blasting advice and assistance to deliver outstanding results; Continual Learning and Development: Attending blasting training sessions, seminars, and masterclasses with Orica's global Technical Services communities to hone your own skills and expertise. What you will bring Blasting Engineer or experienced Technical Services Engineer Degree qualification Mining Engineering or a related earth sciences discipline such as geology or civil; Technical experience in drill & blast, preferably within varied sites and environments in Underground mining. Experienced Open cut Drill and Blast engineer who keen to explore and understand underground Drilling and Blasting are encouraged to apply as well; Experience in using Electronic Blasting systems. Blasting Technician or Senior Blasting Technician Experience as a underground operator, shotfirers, experience charge up , or MCU or Hypercharge operator; TAE cert IV highly regarded but not essential.
