ABOUT THE ROLE An opportunity has arisen at Knox Grammar School senior campus for a Business Studies and Commerce Teacher to join our dynamic, collaborative and high performing Finance and Legal Studies department. The position is on a permanent full time basis commencing Term 1, 2024. The department has a large number of classes with more than 1,000 students studying the elective subjects of Commerce, Economics, Business Studies and Legal Studies across Stages 5 and 6. The department enjoys a proud history and sustained track record of achieving outstanding HSC results. We have opportunities for teachers who can demonstrate:- A variety of effective teaching strategies to engage students of varying abilities on their path to achieving specific learning outcomes. Experience in the design, production and administration of various types and levels of assessments tasks. Effective student management strategies for all levels of student ability and engagement. Well-developed IT skills for: (i) Integration into classroom strategies (ii) Departmental Teaching and Learning initiatives (iii) Departmental administrative requirements The desire to be a team player in a collegial department with high expectations of its members and of its students. The successful candidate will have: Qualifications and teaching experience in Business Studies and Commerce From February 2024, the salary for a Band 1 graduate teacher will rise from $87,191 to $96,400 (11.31% above the AIS MEA) and the salary for the top of Scale Knox teacher will rise from $128,607 to $137,665 (12.19% above the AIS MEA).
