About the role We are pleased to announce that we are inviting candidate applications for the role of Lead - Treasury, Accounting. This is a rare opportunity to join Orica's centralized global treasury function and work with a talented team of professionals across the Group Finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing Orica's treasury operations and be responsible for the accounting of debt and derivatives instruments. The role requires a deep and demonstrable understanding of hedge accounting and foreign currency denominated debt instruments. What you will be doing Complete month end accounting, reporting and reconciliation requirements for treasury within Orica Group reporting timelines, with core responsibility for the accounting of external debt, derivative financial instruments and hedge accounting Maintain and report on hedge accounting structures, perform monthly hedge effectiveness testing and analysis. Assist with the preparation and validation of the monthly Treasury report including key treasury metrics reported to the Orica Board. Preparation of Net Debt and Finance Risk Management notes for the Orica Limited annual and half-year external financial report in line with Orica's internal and external reporting timelines. Identify and implement system and process enhancements to improve Treasury workflow processes within a highly controlled environment. Maintain and recommend refinements to internal controls to ensure adequate coverage of the Treasury function. Support the Analyst - Treasury Accounting with the completion of required work. This role is primarily responsible for accounting requirements associated with the processing and validation of intercompany funding activities. Assist the Controller, Treasury Accounting and Operations with any ad hoc tasks, where required. Perform the role of Acting Controller, when delegated in the absence of the Controller, Treasury Accounting and Operations. What you will bring Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field. Professional designation CPA, ACA or equivalent, is essential. 7-10 years experience in a large multinational corporate treasury environment. Experience in Treasury accounting and control environment is essential. Demonstrated practical experience and knowledge of IFRS hedge accounting standards essential, including fair value, cash flow and net investment hedging. Strong analytical skills and proactive approach to problem solving. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in a team environment.
