About the Role: In your new role as Electrical Designer, you will work independently in the preparation of complex designs from which construction drawings are completed. When working in a lead-role, you will assign tasks accordingly to designers/drafters. Your duties will include: ensure compliance with approved design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design. review and check calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion. responsible for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline. work with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements. generate 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others, including single line diagrams, termination diagrams, network diagrams, block diagrams, P&ID's, general arrangements and layouts. What You Bring: sound knowledge of Electrical design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. familiarity with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). skill in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials, components and instrumentation. knowledge of the methods and procedures used for procurement, takeoffs and control of bulk materials. extensive experience in design and drafting, combined with demonstrated skill in a lead role or recognized courses in the directing of personnel.
