The role Sandvik are currently seeking an enthusiastic and strong performing Warehouse Worker (Leading Hand) to join our warehouse team based in Pinkenba. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day operations and activities involved with the supply of spare parts and materials in compliance with Sandvik warehousing and logistics procedures and processes. This Leading Hand position is the working the afternoon shift, hours being 1:30pm to 10:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 11:30am to 8:00pm Fridays. Areas of responsibility Comply with all aspects of the Sandvik EHS policy and any reasonable instruction, procedures or systems of work which are given in the interest of providing safe workplaces and eliminating environmental harm. Accepting incoming shipments, inspecting the goods for damage or discrepancies, and unloading them from delivery trucks. Keeping track of the inventory and updating the inventory database to ensure accurate stock levels. Selecting items from the warehouse shelves according to customer orders or requests and preparing them for shipping. Checking products for defects, damages, or any discrepancies and reporting any issues to supervisors or managers. Working closely with other warehouse workers, supervisors, and managers to ensure smooth operations. Identifying and resolving issues related to inventory, shipping, or warehouse operations. Suggesting and implementing process improvements to optimize warehouse operations and increase efficiency. General warehouse maintenance and housekeeping. Your profile You will be adaptable, reliable and committed to our "Zero Harm" attitude. You will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, a high level of enthusiasm and excellent communication and leadership skills. You will have a minimum of 2 years' warehouse/stores experience and hold a Forklift Licence. A Certificate IV in Warehousing or equivalent is also desirable but not essential.
