Experienced Mechanical Engineer needed for a coal-fired power station based in Millmerran. 200-210k Super. Our client, a coal-fired power station south of Millmerran in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Location: Millmerran, Queensland, Australia. Hours: You decide- full flexibility Duration: 6 months (with a possible extension). Salary: $200,000 - $210,000 Super. Key Responsibilities: Review current parts inventory for major valves, creating a comprehensive database for quick reference and efficient ordering. Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to develop Maintenance Procedures for valve disassembly, inspection, and reassembly. Coordinate with a draftsperson contractor to produce drawings suitable for valve assembly. Review QA documentation, serving as the first technical resource for escalation of maintenance issues. Collaborate with the Valving Contractor to ensure adherence to QA practices and efficient completion of activities on the Check Sheet and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). Address issues with Engineering that cannot be resolved through regular maintenance. Coordinate parts allocation, ensure proper machining workshop coordination, and provide training to maintenance technicians on best valve maintenance practices. Review ITP documentation and raise Non-Compliance Reports with the Valve Contractor for any missing information. Input baseline information from the outage into ITPs/Check sheets as required. Qualifications and Experience: Strong technical background in valves; experience working at a level higher than a pure tradesperson. Previous experience as a technical officer or equivalent role. Familiarity with database management for parts inventory. Ability to collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and external contractors. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
