The role: The Legal Counsel will support the General Counsel as the primary contacts for the Commercial and Products business units, bringing particular expertise to leasing and licensing, including responding to government tenders. The Legal Counsel will also provide general commercial advice and support for transactions and disputes across these business units as needed and function as part of the wider Legal team. Key responsibilities: Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of agreements including leases, licences and commercial services agreements - identifying critical commercial issues and providing sound reasoning for oOh’s legal position. Act in relation to government tenders and compulsory acquisitions as directed by General Counsel, collaborating with business units to achieve corporate objectives and mitigate unnecessary business risk. Provide advice on commercial and contractual obligations and general regulatory obligations. Support the implementation of governance and risk minimisation strategies and compliance regimes for day to day operations. Assist with contract template development and legal process improvements. Operate as part of the broader oOhmedia Legal Team. The Experience: To be successful in this role you will have at least 2 years PQE (or equivalent) with a track record in transactional matters within private practice or in-house. You will hold a Bachelor of Laws and Admission to Practice in NSW. Additionally the following skills and experience is required: Demonstrated experience reviewing, advising on, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Stakeholder, vendor and relationship management skills and the ability to guide and influence outcomes. A proactive, positive, collaborative and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service. Ability to progress matters autonomously. A pragmatic approach with a focus on achieving commercial outcomes. Proficient in MS office suite (Word and Teams). Commercial property experience will be considered favourably but is not essential.
