We are looking for a seasoned and exceptionally skilled Senior Design Manager to become a valuable addition to our expanding Defence team. Why Icon? We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our growing Defence construction team. As a Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all design activities across multiple projects, ensuring that all design deliverables are completed in accordance with project brief, and contract requirements. You will engage lead a team of designers and collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and Subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Responsibilities: Manage and oversee all design activities across multiple construction projects Lead a team of designers and provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and Subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery Review project briefs, specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints Develop and maintain project design schedules and budgets Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval Monitor design progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues Identify and resolve design-related issues and escalate issues to senior management as needed Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date Ensure a traceable record is maintained of all key design decisions including justification and approvals. Manage the process of milestone design reviews including ensuring that client sign-off is achieved and recorded at appropriate stages. Ensure that design change control processes are produced and effective. Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities Report monthly on design performance including progress against quality, completion and design budget objectives.
