Our opportunity As a Retail Design Manager, you will create unique and dynamic tenancy spaces within all assets across the Retail portfolio. Please note this is a 6 Month Fixed Term Full Time Contract Your responsibilities are: Ensuring the customer and visitor experience is encompassed in all aspects of the role and the asset's offering. Contributing to the objectives of each asset's Asset, Business and Strategic Leasing Plan, whilst understanding the asset lifecycle. Building relationships with operators, Mirvac teams, key local community groups and authorities, customers and visitors, and attending meetings as required. Contributing to the preparation and implementation of the asset's design strategy, and ensuring value add and adherence to the asset's Tenancy Design Guidelines. Working to the Strategic Leasing Plan timetable and understanding the asset's retail mix and tenancy strategies and, where possible, preparing tenancy critique reports 12 months ahead of pending lease expiries. Collaborating with the leasing team to resolve roadblocks to tenancy spaces and manage design expectations by providing solutions upfront. Managing the design approval process in accordance with Mirvac standards and procedures and delivering a premium tenancy design and fit-out experience for operators that ultimately maximises trading performance. Effectively negotiating the best retail design for the tenancy space in accordance with the lease agreement, and ensuring all fit-outs are consistent with the asset's Tenancy Design Guidelines and appointed contractors and design consultants meet their contract obligations Ensuring operators understand their design and documentation obligations under the lease, and ultimate delivery of the tenancy fit-out, with no operators to commence trade without final inspection and sign off. Responsible for data accuracy and project milestone setting in Salesforce, updating and reviewing throughout the pre-lease deal workflow until final designs are approved and ensuring key stakeholders are informed of project progress. Proactively using Salesforce data to make informed decisions to pre-empt potential design issues and strategic conversations about prospective operators. Conducting regular and thorough site reviews of each tenancy across the Retail portfolio and maintaining a presence at the asset throughout the tenancy fit-out process to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner. Proactively managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of tenancy fit-outs in line with final approved designs, budgets and deadlines provided and with the correct documentation completed. Where required, working with the Development team to ensure potential tenancy and design issues are raised during the development planning phase, and throughout the development, and delivering to the expectations set. Driving improvements and maximising efficiency of Retail Design procedures and reporting and contributing to the annual update of the Retail Design & Fitout Guide. Working collaboratively with national teams to deliver Retail divisional initiatives and contributing to the implementation of the Retail strategy. Your point of difference To be successful you will have relevant tertiary qualifications, previous experience in the retail industry and a high level of IT proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office package). Demonstrated experience in a high-volume role with conflicting priorities with the ability to convey ideas visually is essential. You will have a track record in negotiating terms and desired design outcomes as well as experience working with design documentation. Finally, you will have a a team player attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, multitask and adapt to change, and a willingness to be flexible.
