In this role, you will be working at the nexus of product and technology, you will collaborate closely with the local Product team, regional business Leadership, and Global Teams (including engineering and technology) with the objectives to enhance and build Digital and Retail products. You will get an opportunity to work on the region's largest payments initiatives, including improving the money sending experience in both our digital and retail locations, and creating omni-channel experiences for our customers. Role Responsibilities: - Oversee technology development and operations with the objective of delivering Oceania Digital and Retail Products roadmap. - Evolve Products and Operations fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, customer-centric mindset, and product-focused delivery. - Strong focus on daily testing of products for bugs, reviewing specifications, executing scripts, and analysing the results including reporting and taking actions depending on the outcomes. - Design and write high quality, efficient code, for minor initiatives specific to the region. Provide feedback to ensure best practices are followed. - Play a pivotal role in creating a highly collaborative environment (reduce siloes) between regional teams and global functions (including technology, engineering, operations, and support canters). - Strive to increase the organization's ability to deliver product builds and services at high velocity while meeting Western Union customers' needs. - Liaise with diverse teams within our global organization to identify bottlenecks, provide technical guidance, and optimize product delivery. Proactively understand how applications impact customers and business operations - Facilitate the building of innovative solutions thanks to technology and automation, streamline the integration of development and operations. - Ensuring Product objectives are met and enable efficient release cycles in alignment with Product lead and Global functions. Engage with global Teams in capacity planning and performance management tasks to ensure product scalability and reliability. - Develop and implement monitoring and automation tools with a focus on the end-to-end performance of our products. Ensure our systems and products are secure and compliant with industry standards and practices. - Engage with fintech and technology peers to keep pace with digital innovation and payments agendas. Role Requirements: - To be successful in this role you should have at least 7 years' experience in Technical Product/ IT or engineering product development. - Expert knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS). - Strong scripting skills and understanding of java scripts like Angular, React, React Native would be preferrable. - Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and source control management and working with engineering teams. - Experience in Australian and New Zealand payment technologies will be well-regarded, as will your experience in both direct-to-consumer, and back-office money-send applications. - Proficient understanding of networking and security concepts. - Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and attention to detail. Motivated about the purpose of the Brand and its mission. - Experience in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams, customer centric and hands-on mindset.
