The Engineer - Network Analysis will be responsible for undertaking modelling, analysis, and authoring recommendations for high voltage transmission system developments to ensure Transgrid's strategies and objectives are met. Working across the Network business unit, the Engineer will develop network models, perform detailed analysis, determine technical specifications and ratings for transmission system equipment, and contribute to provision of planning and operational advice, network connections assessments and system incident investigations. This role also encompasses the development and implementation of power systems analysis strategies and plans for longer term network developments and connections, work closely with other network service providers, and assess the feasibility of new technology to optimise cost, risk and performance. About you Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience Experience in the analysis and development of electricity transmission systems Communicate effectively with a range of persons including customers, suppliers, contractors, other technical experts and senior management (written and verbal) Experience in the legislation and technical standards guiding system planning Understanding of risk management - qualitative and quantitative Knowledge of national and international planning standards and practices Excellent knowledge of electrical networks engineering and operations Excellent written communications skills for persuasive reports and submissions Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills Knowledge of various computer systems and quality assurance procedures Knowledge of the National Electricity Market and its impact on operations of the NSW HV network and Transgrid's business Knowledge of the energy industry Experience in performing power quality assessments for generator connections Familiar with using PSCAD, PSS/E and/or PowerFactory Experience in scripting and automation of power system analysis tools Skills and performance in participating in change management Understanding of quality assurance principles and experience with working in accordance with a Quality Assurance System Recognition & Reward In return for your hard work, we have numerous benefits and initiatives to support you personally and professionally including but not limited to private health insurance discount, motor vehicle lease plan, career development support, study assistance program and workplace flexibility.
