Senior Embedded Designer Permanent Salary is flexible depending on the experience Location: Newcastle (hybrid model, although preference is mainly on-site) Our client are world leaders in the design of earthing/power systems. They design and manufacture their own instruments and majority of the work is around measuring voltage and currents, power electronics and power inverters. Currently there are some measurement instruments being developed and existing products they are looking to upgrade. The role: This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Embedded Designer that has a true passion for electronics and can also contribute to electronic design. A hobbyist at heart making a living from it Reporting to our R&D Manager and working with a highly talented team you will play a critical role in the development of new instruments and products whilst focused on the firmware. The role will assist with resolving product design issues, maintaining production quality, maintaining our existing product range and ensuring adherence to legislative requirements. You will primarily provide embedded software solutions as this will be your area of expertise, complementing with electronic design for our range of industrial test and measuring equipment. You will strive for development outcomes that are of a very high standard whilst meeting budget, quality and customer specified requirements. Core requirements: Develop embedded software solutions for new products, systems and applications. Validate and improve designs in existing products, systems and applications. Research and propose new tools, methods, techniques and innovations for future development. Collaborate with our multidisciplinary engineering teams for the development of products and application solutions. Provide training and trainee mentoring to less experience team members. Experience Required: Strong embedded software design experience Experience with leading and mentoring others Local or able to be local to Newcastle ARM micro-controllers with a minimum 4 - 5 years' experience Experience writing software in a RTOS environment Embedded firmware C / C++ development This is an excellent opportunity to join a team who are passionate about designing world leading earthing and power systems.
