The Opportunity: KBR's Joint Team is seeking an experienced Communications Systems Engineer to support our Defence client across an array of engineering requirement. The role will be required to provide a wide range of System Engineering capabilities including the provision of detailed systems engineering technical and professional advice. The Systems Engineer shall provide engineering management and oversight over requirements for engineering, design management, integration engineering, and verification and validation. Responsibilities Review and provide input to update engineering documents. Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of systems and communications engineering under broad direction. Assess technical and design packages including scoping, planning, reviewing, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions. Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions. Monitor and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into systems engineering activities. Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic or communication systems engineering or similar related field. An understanding of procurement and contracting in a government, or Defence industry environment High levels of enthusiasm with an outcome-focus and problem-solving attitude toward their work. Skills and experience in writing documentation conforming to government writing standards. A strong ability to communicate with a range of internal and external engineering, commercial and technical stakeholders. An ability to pick up new and complex processes and systems quickly. A high level of competence and experience in using Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word and Excel formatting, tables and merging of documents. NV1 security clearance is essential for this role Highly Desirable Experience using the ASDEFCON suite. Understanding of the One Defence Capability System (formerly the Capability Life Cycle) and the Defence procurement processes and procedures. Experience working in a Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) environment.
