Child Care Cook The Joey Club Melbourne is a beautiful purpose built work based long day care service - Managed by KU Children's Services, one of Australia's most experienced early childhood education providers offering daycare to Qantas and Airservices employees. The Joey Club provides exceptional education and care for children within a safe and nurturing learning environment. We provide a play-based learning program, which is centred on children€™s individual strengths and interests. The centre has ample on-site parking for its staff. Our program is designed to allow children to develop a wide range of skills including curiosity, creativity, decision-making, exploration, language and self-expression. This is an excellent permanent part time position working 8am - 1pm on Monday to Friday to nurture a love of food in children aged 0-5 years old as you prepare their meals from scratch and become a key part of the team. As the centre's Cook, you will: manage the kitchen, order stock (from preferred suppliers for fruit, vegetables and groceries) plan and prepare all menus from scratch assist in small group experiences with the children and introducing them to the wonderful world of cooking Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at a high standard at all times, meeting council health audits At KU, we encourage our staff to keep up to date professionally and to take advantage of our comprehensive staff development program available to all permanent employees. To be successful in this position you will: be a qualified Cook with a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) OR hold food safety and food handling qualifications be a passionate cook who loves instilling a passion for food in young people Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
